The Placencia Lobsterfest

Published on April 16, 2018

One of the biggest events of the year is set to take place in Placencia, Belize this summer. Running from June 22-24, 2018, the coastal village of Placencia will host the 18th annual Lobsterfest, a three-day celebration of the world's favorite edible crustacean.

Lobsterfest in Placencia is a giant, three-day beach party that includes live music, fun games, dancing, and, of course, a smorgasbord of delicious lobster-based and lobster-themed dishes created by top chefs from across the country. Originally a local affair to celebrate the opening of the lobster fishing season, Lobsterfest has become one of the top festivals in the country. Hundreds of locals and visitors alike are expected to attend this year's Lobsterfest.

Lobster is famous not just for its savory taste but for being a low-calorie, protein-packed seafood. Lobster dishes served during the festival include unique creations like lobster curry, grilled lobster, lobster bisques, lobster rolls, and spicy hot Caribbean lobster dishes. Beyond all the seafood, Lobsterfest also has a wide variety of fresh vegetables, delicious drinks, and other dishes that are sure to satisfy even the pickiest palates.

And be sure to put on your dancing shoes when you attend Lobsterfest as the festival draws in top musical acts that will keep your toes tapping until dawn breaks over the Caribbean.

If you're interested in attending this year's Lobsterfest, Untame Belize can help. Untame Belize is a locally-run and operated tour company based right in southeastern Belize and offers private ground transfers and shuttle services to and from any destination in the country, including Placencia.
